Tonight I had two different KJs in the house besides me.   One I have known for a while, one I never met.    The one I know chatted for a while during the night.    I showed him a slip from the other one and he said he didn't know them either.

There was never an introduction of the new KJ.   But the unknown KJ was so nice, they didn't cost me any money.  They saved my slips and used theirs all night.   And at the end of the night, I didn't have to put any of my slips in the book they used, because it was already filled with theirs slips....   Such a nice thoughtful KJ.

Does this still happen?

People actually giving a damn about other people or at least their own self respect and integrity, I thought that was pase.

What happened Bigdog? Did you get replaced, then? What's the story? Or is it in another post?

There must be a hidden meaning, someone waiting to jump out and strike.

No one can have that much self discipline these days.

It's like me walking in to your job and telling your boss, I came to take Chucks job.   Fire him, hire me.

See now, I don't see it that way. I think it just like a peer saying, " Hi, I'm a KJ too. Here's my business card. ( 27 times, just in case you lose the first one ) Drop by my show and say hi... " lol.

I think its very unethical like a former KJ handing out business cards to all of your singers saying "come to my show! come to my show !" ( Man that really sounds familiar ) anyways, Im sorry that happened to you just be glad you found the slips not a patron.
BTW the former KJ I was talking about has quit karaoke all together, apparently the grass WASN'T greener on the other side ! HA !! He even wrote our new KJ telling her all about it and said he JUST found out that their music was illegal. He's GOT to be joking. HE'S the one who let them know where and took them to the place to buy the illegal hard drive. I dont know who he thinks he's fooloing. Definatley not ME !!

Typically the jocks around here introduce each other when they attend other shows. It is kinda cool--makes you feel like we are all one big family.

BD, you adorable puppy, I bet it wouldn't have made a difference in your situation. Which sucks. But it was a stupid move on their part; they should talk to the club owner unless they want YOU to hire them.

Good Kj's will patronise other shows and help the host by working the crowd either on the mic or off. As pros they become a team and enhance the show. I will announce their schedule and promote them as well. We have had band members come in do a song or two and promote a gig somewhere.

As far as somebody coming in to steal a show. If they have a system or selection as good as ours then they are already booked. If not I'm not really worried about them.

We don't announce our other shows, unless the other show(s) is in the bar we are currently working, so we will not announce another KJ's show.  If someone asks where we do our shows we will tell them but we don't mention the club's competitor over the mic.

Different strokes,
Susie :)

I fully appreciate that Susie and if I were to come to your show I would respect that and would abide by your rules :)  But I still reserve the right to turn the crowd on with my super natural talent and singing ability during my 3 minutesLOL

Thanks for the respect, we've had a few KJ's come up for their song and announce their gigs to the bar.....  Quick way to get your mic turned off....

Only 3 minutes!!   :O

Susie :)

Chuck2, you have to be careful when you give your love to something that can't love you back.  LOL

I hate that as well.  I don't mind other kj's coming in, I get them in often from other companies.  When I go to others shows, I don't even say anything about my own shows, not tactful.
